MDN: Trolleys Will Stage a South Main Comeback “Memphis trolleys are on track to return to South Main. U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen announced Thursday, Nov. 12, that the Memphis Area Transit Authority had received a $2.6 million federal grant to purchase three new electric rail trolleys. The money is coming from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement program.
