MBJ: Gus’s Fried Chicken opens Kansas City location
“On Monday, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken started serving up its Southern-style fried chicken from its new space in Kansas City.
The new restaurant at 2816 W. 47th Ave. in Kansas City, Kansas, can trace its roots through 60-plus years of history and joins 13 other locations, including its original location in Mason, Tennessee.
The Daily Meal named it the “best fried chicken spot” in America in 2014. Gus’s crispy, spicy recipe recipe is a “closely guarded family secret,” according to its website. The restaurant also will serve a variety of sides, fried starters and desserts with a selection of soda and beers.
The local fried chicken franchise is co-owned by Steve Zanone.”
