MBJ: New East Memphis Greenline access point fully funded

“A new access point for the Greenline in East Memphis has secured its funding.

The Shelby Farms Park Conservancy (SFPC) said the $170,000 needed to make the new access point on Perkins Road is in hand. The funding campaign launched in June 2015 and picked up a $100,000 Community Enhancement Grant from Shelby County Commissioner Heidi Shafer. The Hyde Family Foundations contributed an additional $58,000 to the access point. The rest of the funding was secured from community support.

Currently, there is no way for pedestrians to access the Greenline from Perkins Road, marking a nearly 2.5 mile section of the trail without neighborhood access.
