ICYMI: Memphis nurse and police find Florida girl and alleged abductor (WMC)

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that missing 4-year-old Rebecca Lewis has been found safe in Memphis. According to the Memphis Police Department, an employee at Baptist Memorial Hospital contacted police after recognizing the child and the man who allegedly abducted her from the Amber Alert.

When police arrived, they found the suspect and Rebecca in the garage of the parking lot as they were trying to pull out.

“We received a call from security here at the hospital that said that the individuals in the amber Alert had been seen inside by an employee,” Lt. Karen Randolph, Memphis Police Department, said.

It was a nurse tech at the hospital who alerted security after spotting the two in the hospital.

“They were able to, through the security cameras, see the individual inside and watch him as he left,” Randolph said. “So, working together with them, we were able to get the information and locate him.”

The suspect, a 31-year-old Florida man who calls himself West Wild Hogs, is in custody.
