MBJ: SweetBio selected for state business accelerator
Launch Tennessee has selected eight companies from accelerators around the state to participate in this year’s cohort of its master accelerator program, The TENN. Of the eight selected, only one Memphis-based company, SweetBio, made the cut.
Participants in the four-month program will meet corporate leaders and venture and angel investors in the state. The companies will also make meet with potential investors in San Francisco.
SweetBio has developed a product that uses manuka honey to heal incisions from oral surgery. The company completed the ZeroTo510 accelerator program in 2015 and was invited to apply to The TENN last year, but Isaac Rodriguez, CEO and co-founder of SweetBio, said the company “just wasn’t there yet.”
