MBJ: Coming soon to Oxford: Tech and music event featuring NFL exec and former Facebook CMO
C Spire is bringing national technology and culture speakers, technology demos and a concert for a tech convening.
CTX-the C Spire Tech Experience will be held Thursday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at The Pavilion at the University of Mississippi.
Featured speakers include Randi Zuckerberg, founder of Zuckerberg Media and former CMO at Facebook; National Football League CIO Michelle McKenna-Doyle; and Dr. Brian Uzzi, a Northwestern University professor and artificial intelligence expert.
Technology demonstrations will include streaming digital television, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Some of the virtual reality demonstrations will feature work from students and faculty at the Ole Miss School of Engineering and the Center for Manufacturing Excellence.
Later that night CTX is hosting a music concert at The Lyric in downtown Oxford, featuring Passion Pit (from Cambridge, Massachusetts), as well as the Weeks and the Lonely Biscuits (both from Nashville).
C Spire, the Ridgeland, Mississippi-based telecommunications and technology services company, said the tech-focused event will help kick off the April 28-29 Double Decker Festival, which the company is sponsoring.
