MBJ: AT&T expands fiber service into Bartlett
Bartlett is one of 50 new cities nationwide that AT&T (NYSE: T) announced it would expand its fiber service to.
“I am excited by this announcement, which is yet another example of private industry responding to consumer demand,” John Threadgill, CEO of the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement. “High-speed internet can open new doors for the citizens of Bartlett and positively impact many aspects of life, such as education and job attraction.”
In October 2016, the telecommunications giant announced its 1 gigabit service would be available in parts of the City of Memphis, as well as parts of Arlington, Collierville, and Germantown.
According to AT&T, its fastest internet speed is marketed to nearly 4 million customer locations, of which over 650,000 include apartments and condo units. The company plans to reach 12.5 million locations by 2019.
