MBJ: New Crosstown brewery announces IBO — initial beer offerings
The brewery set to open next door to Crosstown Concourse in November has unveiled its initial beer lineup.
Crosstown Brewing Company, founded by Will Goodwin and Clark Ortkiese, will start by offering a West Coast-style IPA called “Traffic” and a blonde ale called “Siren,” according to a news release.
“Having spent so much time in the Crosstown neighborhood, we’ve become very familiar with the sights and sounds of our home,” Ortkiese said in the release. “Cleveland Street is very busy, and the 42 is one of the busiest bus routes in the city. The roar of traffic and the drone of sirens are the ambient noises when you’re at the brewery.”
The release described Traffic as a “bold hoppy IPA with bright tropical and citrus flavors” and Siren as “well-balanced” and “understated.”
Goodwin and Ortkiese plan to offer 10 distinct beers at the brewery once production is in full-swing, the release said.
