CA: Indie festival puts focus on Memphis Even more than usual, significant Memphis-connected movies — including “The Invaders,” a documentary about the city’s Black Panthers-inspired radical militant group, and “Little Men,” the latest drama from Memphis-born Ira Sachs — will be among the highlights of this year’s Indie Memphis Film Festival. MDN: Outdoors Inc. Cyclocross Championship Returns

“Memphis might not qualify as a cyclocross racing hotbed. That description better fits Seattle, San Francisco, Denver and Boston. But Memphis has something they don’t: the longest continuous running cyclocross event. This Sunday marks the 28th year for the annual Outdoors Inc. Cyclocross Championship race. This year’s event again will be held at Greenbelt Park on Mud Island. MDN: New Tech Group Formed to Expand Community

“This year’s TechCamp Memphis event, which happens Nov. 1, will represent more than just a one-day conference for design, development and marketing professionals in the Memphis area. The event, now in its third year, also marks the first official event from the Memphis Technology Foundation, a new nonprofit put together by leaders in the city’s technology community to help that community grow.
