HGN: Memphis attracts international music conference Memphis will host an international convention in 2017 that explores how music can influence city development. The Memphis conference will focus on access to music education, resources and facilities while showcasing best practices for the use of music in community projects as well as their social, cultural and economic impact on cities. MDN: Big River Crossing To Open In October The Harahan Bridge across the Mississippi River marks its 100th anniversary this week with an eye toward the Oct. 22 opening of the Big River Crossing. The crossing on the north side of the bridge is a $17.5 million pedestrian and bicycle boardwalk over the river.
